R. Buckler was the backbone of the Jam. He did a great Job on all the tracks he played with the Jam. One song which made his drumming stand out the most is the track all Jam fans know “the Funeral Pyre” reason being he does a drum solo.
Buckler was always sharp and his timing was spot on. If you have the Jam album called the gift the last album the Jam recorded together the is an instrumental song written by Bruce Foxton called circus this is yet another one of a few songs which he recorded with the Jam where he does an actual drum solo. It’s a short solo but well planned so it fits the song nicely.
A town called Malice is one of those jam songs which all fans love and it’s filled with many tasteful drum licks and again for me bucker’s drumming puts the icing on the cake, as much as we all love the front man of the band other members of the band made the sound what captured Jam fans worldwide. Foxton and Buckler reformed the Jam however at some point Buckler left the Jam again probably endless arguments with Foxton?

† In Australia, the songs "Going Underground", "The Eton Rifles", "That's Entertainment" and "Start!" made up an Australia-only EP entitled 4 Side Affects. This EP charted at #50 on the Australian singles chart, and all f:our tracks from it are considered to have peaked at #50.
(Note: EPs are ranked on the Billboard album chart, not the singles chart.)
There were many compellation albums other than extras few offered anything new. Foxton played bass on all the songs except a few on the album called extras.
